DIVRIGI
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF THE TOWN
The
town Divrigi is located near the Çalti-Stream Valley, a
branch of the river Eupharates. It is surrounded by Erzincan
in the east, Kangal in the west, Zara-Imranli in the north,
and Malatya in the south.
Its area 2395
Km.sq., altitude
is 1250 metres. Its central population is 13.135, and the
total population with its villages is 22.190. The town has
four subdistricts, 109 villages and 84 fields. The central
town has 26 districts.
The
important mountains of the town are the following; Çengelli
Mountain in the north (2650 m.), Deli Mountain (2150 m.),
Eferdi, Goldagi, and Akdag. In the south, there are Demirli,
Geyikli Mountains and Sançiçek in the southeast, Igimbat
in the east, and Dumluca Mountains in the west. The most
important river of the town is Çaltı Stream. The town has
terrestrial climate. In winters, it is heavy snowy and cold;
in summers, it is hot and dry. Some of the mountains of the
town have sparse forestry of oak, juniper and pine trees.
