Materials
and Methods
The
study was carried out on 87 patients, who were diagnosed
with psoriasis vulgaris by a dermatologist. Evaluation of
the patients was done by using PASI (Psoriasis Area and
Severity Index) scoring system. A control dermatologic
examination was made for the patients who were using the
pool for treatment every three days during the study.
The
authors did not influence the patients lengths of stay in
the pools. These periods were determined by the patients.
Because of the traditional belief in this area, the maximum
length of stay is 21 days. A simple questionnare about
recurrences was given to patients who had used the spa
previously.
The
collected data was analyzed with suitable statistical
software.Statistical analyses were carried out by using
Paired t test, Wilcoxon two sample test, and Kolmogrov
Smirnov test. The statistical siginificance was accepted as
p values of less than 0.01.
